King Richard III and Football (League 2, Championship, Championship, League 1) Plymouth - Nottingham - Norwich - Colchester
Hoek van Holland - South Holland - Holland - The Netherlands.
This is probably River Exe and followed up by the English Channel.
Lovely scenes from the train. (Between Exminster and Teignmouth)
Some of this train track, especially at Dawlish was damaged after the February storms in 2014.

Plymouth.
One of the harbours of Plymouth. Arrived her in the afternoon of Monday April 13th. Will leave this port on Wednesday morning.

Did a walk around the harbours Monday afternoon and on Tuesday. It was lovely weather.

Somewhere behind that first building in the middle was my Premier Inn for these two days. From here to there across the white bridge is approx. 10 minutes. Via the harbour on the left, it is about 20 minutes.
Two cannons to shoot the French.
Was here on Tuesday.

Of course, I have not seen everything of this town. And that could be a reason to come back. Football wise, no.

Passed this church, one (to hotel), twice (walk around), three (walk around part II), four (to ground), five (to hotel part II), six (to train station) times (more or less).
In my back, there should be the Home Park of Plymouth Argyle football club. The train station is just in front of the first large building you see. Just before arriving by train at the station, you could see the ground between the hills. So I was hoping to make lovely pictures from here……. But that was very disappointing.
Home Park of Plymouth Arglye FC. Today’s match is against AFC Wimbledon. This will be my first and last visit to this ground.
I like this stand. Only the floodlights are looking embarrassing. The match ended in 1-1. Akinfenwa, a big player of AFC Wimbledon, played the whole match. He is big, he looks not really thin, but he can do some nice football things. He is impressive.
On Wednesday April 15th I took the train from Plymouth via Birmingham New Street to Nottingham. This photo is taken at Birmingham New Street Station.
The City Ground of Nottingham Forest. Once again I sat on the Bridgford Stand.
Nottingham Forest 1 Watford 3. The correct result. By half time, Forest was lucky that is was 0-2 only. In the second half, especially after a Forest player was sent off, Forest played a little bit better. Got back in the match (1-2 free kick), with a little luck they could have scored again, but failed.
On Thursday I visited the site of King Richard III. Was here before on May 1st 2013. They have done a decent job with his tombe.
The huge Leicester Cathedral.
King Richard III
King Richard III
King Richard III By the way. If you follow the signs King Richard III + Cathedral from the station. You’ll never get there.
Norwich Station.
Norwich Station and some skyline of Norwich.
This is Cromer.
This is Cromer.
This is Cromer.
This is Cromer and the North Sea.
Spend about 4 hours in this town, just North of Norwich. Only 1 hour by train from Norwich.
The North Sea
A lovely walk area.

The Pier of Cromer. Won a price of the best Pier of 2015. I have no idea how bad the others are. This one looks pretty old and that. And rusty…

The station of Cromer is situated across this parkingplace. And you cannot believe your ears, at the station, when someone asks you, if this station is good for trains to Norwich.
This is just a small town with, how bad it may sound, one station only. Sorry.
Lovely route by train.

You are just out of town for a few hours and you come back and find this in front of the station. You can see four pillars. And according to marks on the walls, this car went between the far right pillar and that pole next to it. Amazing.
Norwich City 0 Middlesbrough 1 A very entertaining match for neutral viewer. Middlesbrough was tactical far better then Norwich City. An own goal of a Norwich defender was the only goal of this match.
Both teams had some chances. But the counters of Boro were threatening. The ones Norwich produced, no. Norwich did not had it today.
Home sweet home. No complains about the train or NS whatsoever.
Colchester United 2 Scunthorpe United 2 Have been before to Colchester United at Layer Road. That ground was old, small, but lovely.
As far as I am concerned, a draw was the correct result.
Manningtree.
Back in Hoek van Holland - South Holland - Holland - The Netherlands.
Next match for me is in the city you see in the distance : Feyenoord v Go Ahead Eagles. And that would be today.
